Professional services terms
Services purchased online are governed by the scope shown on the relevant service page and the engagement confirmation issued after payment. Complex, retainer and contingency engagements require a separate signed engagement letter before substantive work begins.
Sessions and retainers
Scoping sessions and working sessions are charged at R2 500 per hour. Monthly advisory retainers begin at R25 000. Reserved capacity, response times and any work outside the included allocation are confirmed in writing.
Payment
Online orders are payable when placed unless an alternative written arrangement has been approved. Fees exclude official filing fees, third-party costs and specialist fees unless expressly stated.
Scope changes
Work outside the stated scope is quoted separately and begins only after written approval.
Registration and regulatory outcomes
Company, trust, VAT and financing services include preparation, advisory and coordination within the agreed scope. Approval, registration, tax treatment, funding and investment outcomes remain subject to the relevant authority, counterparty and applicable law, and are not guaranteed.
Tax integrity
Claven supports lawful tax planning, accurate disclosure and compliant tax efficiency. Tax evasion, false submissions and impermissible avoidance arrangements are outside scope. Work requiring reserved, licensed or registered-professional services is referred to or coordinated with an appropriately authorised specialist.
Forensic-audit fees
The published R35 000 forensic-audit base fee is non-negotiable and payable for the initial evidence and scoping phase. Senior-led professional time is charged at R2 500 per hour. Indicative investigation budgets are R35 000–R75 000 for focused matters, R75 000–R250 000 for extended investigations and R250 000–R1 million or more for full-scale investigations. These are planning bands, not fixed quotations. A completion fee may be contingent and negotiated only for an eligible non-assurance mandate. Its amount or percentage, objective measurement basis, cap and payment trigger must be recorded in a signed engagement letter. A contingent fee never influences the evidence, findings or professional conclusions. Where professional independence rules prohibit a contingent fee, a fixed or time-based completion fee applies.
Other contingency arrangements
Any other contingency component is subject to due diligence, a monthly retainer of at least R25 000 or published base fee, an objectively measurable basis and a signed engagement letter. No contingency arrangement exists unless recorded in writing.
Cancellation and rescheduling
Booked sessions may be rescheduled on reasonable notice. Work already performed and committed third-party costs remain payable.
